About Micro Wizard
Micro Wizard was founded in 1985 by
Stuart Ferguson who designed electronic products for various companies. One day
in 1990, he decided to purchase a Pinewod Derby timer for his son's Cub Scout
troup. He checked out the market and couldn't find one with all the features
that he thought were important. Being an electronic wizard, he decided to
design and build one himself. The first Fast Track electronic timer was
born!
It worked so well that he decided to start marketing it. He
listened to his customer's suggestions, and came up with new features and a
couple of new timer designs - because no one design fitted all his customer's
needs. Orders for his timers kept coming in. By 1997, he had moved the business
from his basement into his own building and had hired several full-time
employees.
Today, Stu's business is still
growing. He has sold thousands of Pinewood Derby timers to customers located
all over the world. He still believes that the best company policy is to listen
to his customers - they provide the ideas for new products and features - but,
more importantly, they provide feedback to the problems that need to be
addressed on our existing products. This policy has helped establish Micro
Wizard as one of the leading firms in the current Pinewood Derby timer
industry.
